Recently I had roofing company knock on my door and told me they would evaluate my roof and if i needed a new roof, they would replace it for no money out of my pocket. We'll just make your insurance pay for all of it! They don't even measure your house! Sounds like a good deal huh! And if insurance doesn't pay for all of it, then no obligation from the home owner to use them for a new roof. How can ya go wrong!! Well the scam is they never show you the bill they send to your insurance company. So they make their money by putting on the cheapist roof possible and billing your insurance the maximum amount for the roof. If ya need a roof just call any roofing contractor and he will come out and measure your roof and then give you a bid on how much it costs. He won't ask you who your insurance company is or any other questions. Youtube has a bunch of videos about all the scams in the roofing business that all say the same thing.
